Our Story
Like many families, our child was provided with resources to support his active motor by use of a “Sensory Toolbox”. These strategies ranged from active to calming while also encouraging our family to reward our son when effectively completing a chosen strategies. What we noticed, while not next to a copy of our strategies, we quickly forgot which strategies worked in the moment and were not able to accurately implement the strategies while on the go.
Our solution was to create an app that provides families with the quick and easy ability to have instant access to their child’s sensory toolbox while also providing an appealing integration and tracking system for rewards.
Talking with families during development, we heard the same thing “we could use something like this” or “that makes sense because it could greatly help with quick use of strategies”. Once we got started we quickly realized that this isn’t something that could just help families, but could also be used in the classroom, or by agencies such as Foster Care Families who benefit from tracking what works with their foster child and being able to share that information with the agency or family. With the aid of the Sensory Toolbox app, we envision a world where a Child’s sensory needs are just a touch away, and every success is celebrated.
